I CANNOT BELIEVE IT!!!!!! *shrieks*
its a miracle! its a fucking miracle! its been 2 days already since the greatest night of my life, and until now, the reality of winning the European Cup has not sunk in.
NOT YET.in PM Tony Blair's words, 'Unbelievable. Incredible. Brilliant.' he summed up my emotions. oh, add total ecstasy and europhia to that too. i am still high up in the clouds, and oh goodness, i am so glad and lucky that i managed to experience such a night in my whole lifetime.
well, i'm still young, obviously. but my goodness, to see Liverpool winning the Champions League definitely fufilled one of my dreams. GO ON YOU REDS!! win the premiership and i can die a happy girl.
To see Liverpool winning the penalty shoot-out live at 5am that morning made me went absolutely bonkers. i cried. i seriously cried. the match is absolute drama. goodness, i think it has more drama than an oscar-winning movie(er.. don't ask me to compare it with LOTR.)
and to see our captain, Stevie Gerrard kissing and lifting up the trophy... i have never seen a more beautiful image in my life before.

Look at it! isn't it absolutely amazing?? this picture rocks my world!!
yes, i sound incredibly incoherent in this post. but i don't care. all i know is, i really love Liverpool Football Club. with all my heart. if you looked into my profile, you would have noticed that one of my dreams is to go to Anfield. And i'm telling ya, it will be reality one day.
to win the trophy really helps LFC a lot. first, the money. i dunno how much, but they made one hell of a killing by winning the final. secondly, the glimmer of HOPE that LFC can play in next season's champions league. thirdly, the high profile. more players will probably be attracted now to LFC. and lastly, and to me, most importantly, STEVIE G. rumors of him leaving LFC plagued him and the club throughout the entire season, and for the first time in the past year, i have hope that perhaps, he will be staying at Anfield. Stevie G is my favourite player, and he is even way before when he became captain for the club. i always knew he will become captain one day, and to see him lifting the cup as captain... *sobs* i believe strongly that he will experience such feelings again and again with LFC. and i definitely hope so. :)
and his own words, 'how can i leave the club after a night like this?'
EXACTLY.
i wore a LFC shirt (fake one bought from pasar malam T_T) immediately the day they worn. received two comments from two groups of people screaming, 'LIVERPOOL ROCKS!!' hell yeah you are damn right, dudes!
and the fans! i am so not gonna log off without talking about the fans. they were amazing! even during halftime when LFC is 3-0 down, they were singing YNWA and chanting 'we'll gonna win 4-3!' non-stop, putting in their full support behind the team. this is what the meaning of YNWA is. and the fans never proved it wrong.
each time, they rose to the occasion. it started with the amazing night against Olympiakos (dubbed as the Stevie G night), then Juventus (they were incredibly shocked by the amtosphere of Anfield), then Chelsea (we finally won!) and now, AC Milan. what a comeback. it must have been extremely delirious for the fans over there in Istanbul.
they are definitely the 12th man for the team. and i am so proud of the fans. i have been a supporter for LFC for around only 5 years, and these are supporters that have been behind the team for DECADES. YOU GUYS ABSOLUTELY ROCK.
how i wish i could have been in istanbul. or liverpool, to celebrate with the fans and join the party and just go absolutely crazy. i will probably cry if i see it with my very own eyes of steven gerrard with the trophy.
his actions are so cute! he went to bed with the trophy!! i was laughing when i read that piece of news. he slept with the trophy (and from that pic above, you know how big it is) and the winners' medal around his neck. i am so glad that he won the trophy with the team. its probably his life-long dream since he was a kid; lifting a trophy (champions league or premiership) for LIVERPOOL as a captain. ^_^
and i gotta log off right now. and with my last words for this post, i will put the lyrics of 'You'll Never Walk Alone.' Liverpool's anthem and the most famous football song of all time. this song is one that touched my heart deeply, and it is one that all football fans know. however, it is known as the 'liverpool song' and to hear the very best rendition.. it comes from the Anfield Kop.
You'll Never Walk Alone. When you walk through a storm
Hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark
At the end of the storm
Is a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of a lark
Walk on through the wind
alk on through the rain
Tho' your dreams be tossed and blown
Walk on, walk on
With hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone
You'll never walk alone
and LFC will never, ever walk alone.
